Hubbell Announces Organizational Changes Supporting Growth and Innovation

SHELTON, CT.  (January 27, 2014) - Hubbell Incorporated (NYSE: HUBA, HUBB) announced today two organizational changes.  

Bill Tolley, currently the President of Hubbell Power Systems, has been named to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Growth and Innovation, reporting to President, and CEO David G. Nord.  Mr. Tolley will provide focus to Hubbell's efforts to accelerate growth by leveraging the strengths of Hubbell's three operating units.  This includes identifying business opportunities and driving best practices in mergers and acquisitions as well as new product development.  

"This newly created position is essential to meeting our long term growth targets and provides a tremendous opportunity for our organization to further drive innovation and best practice sharing. Bill's breadth of experience from having held numerous senior leadership roles within Hubbell makes him uniquely qualified to drive this critical element of Hubbell's growth strategy," commented Mr. Nord.  

Mr. Tolley earned his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University and his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

With the appointment of Mr. Tolley to his new role, Gerben Bakker has been promoted to President, Hubbell Power Systems. In this role, Mr. Bakker will be responsible for leading a $900 million division of Hubbell that serves utility customers around the world.

"Gerben brings strong management skills, broad industry experience and a global perspective to this important role within Hubbell.  I'm confident he will be able to lead our Power Systems business to even higher levels of success well into the future," Nord said.

Prior to his appointment as President of HPS, he was a Divisional Vice President within the Power Systems business. Mr. Bakker has operational expertise and cross platform experience within Hubbell. He has held positions of increasing responsibility spanning 25 years with Hubbell including key roles in the Power Segment, the Electrical Segment, and international operations.  

Mr. Bakker earned his bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and his master's degree in Manufacturing Engineering from the University of Rhode Island and his MBA from the University of Bridgeport.
