Hubbell Names Vice President, General Counsel

SHELTON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 4, 2012-- Hubbell Incorporated (NYSE: HUBA, HUBB) announced today the appointment of An-Ping Hsieh as Vice President, General Counsel of the Company.

In this capacity, Mr. Hsieh will serve as Hubbell’s lead attorney and provide oversight of the entire legal function for the enterprise. This includes mergers and acquisitions, litigation, intellectual property and corporate governance. Reporting to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Timothy H. Powers, Mr. Hsieh will advise the company on legal issues that impact Hubbell’s strategic initiatives and business decisions.

Prior to joining Hubbell, Mr. Hsieh served as Vice President, Secretary & Associate General Counsel for United Technologies Corporation (UTC). While in this role, he also served as chief transaction attorney, responsible for global mergers and acquisitions and anti-trust activity.

Mr. Hsieh brings more than 25 years of experience primarily as a corporate attorney for a range of companies, including Otis Elevator, UTC Fire & Security and Digital Equipment Corporation. He earned his law degree from Boston College Law School and his bachelor’s degree in political science from Yale University. Mr. Hsieh is currently a board member of the Greater Hartford Legal Aid, Connecticut Asia-Pacific American Bar Association and Connecticut Lawyers’ Collaborative for Diversity.

With Mr. Hsieh’s appointment, Hubbell’s current Vice President, General Counsel, Richard W. Davies, will be moving into the role of Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs. Mr. Davies has more than 35 years legal experience principally in the corporate area at Hubbell where he has provided leadership to the legal department and support for the growth of the Company.
