ORANGE, CT. (February 19, 2002) -- Hubbell Incorporated (NYSE: HUBA, HUBB) today announced that William T. Tolley, 44, has joined the Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Tolley will report to Timothy H. Powers, President and Chief Executive Officer, and will be responsible for leading Hubbell's financial functions including treasury, taxes, accounting, financial reporting, and real estate.
With more than twenty years of experience in manufacturing and finance, Tolley joins Hubbell from the Chesapeake Corporation where he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Prior to that, he had advanced through positions of increasing responsibilities in operations and corporate management with Eastman-Kodak, Chesebrough-Ponds, Textron, and United Technologies Corporation.

Tolley earned his M.B.A. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Economics from Tufts University. He will be based at Hubbell's corporate headquarters in Orange, CT.
